Nuri Kim – Executive Chef
Chef Nuri Kim brings nearly two decades of culinary expertise to her new role as Executive Chef at the Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa. Originally from South Korea, her passion for cooking was ignited early on while assisting her mother, an executive chef at a corporate dining facility. This foundational experience inspired her to pursue formal culinary training in South Korea before relocating to the United States in 2007 to broaden her culinary horizons. Over the years, Chef Nuri has cultivated a rich and diverse career, working in esteemed hotels across the country.
Her journey has been marked by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and leadership, with a strong emphasis on using locally sourced and seasonal ingredients to craft memorable dining experiences. Chef Nuri is deeply passionate about creating dishes that reflect both her heritage and her global culinary experiences. Her vision for the Coronado Marriott is to introduce fresh, inspiring culinary creations that elevate the resort's dining offerings and energize the culinary team. Outside of the kitchen, Chef Nuri enjoys spending quality time with her family and her beloved dogs. She finds joy in preparing traditional Korean meals for her loved ones and stays active through biking, hiking, and regular exercise.
